NNY Section Licensing Class
Thursdays Beginning February 1 (7:30pm-8:30pm)
Thank you for your interest in the 2024 edition of the entry-level Technician license exam preparation course produced by members of the NNY Section. We cover 10 counties in upstate NY and have decades of ham radio experience between us.
This program will run as a mostly "self-study" course with assistance from NNY licensed subject-matter experts during six weekly online Zoom sessions. The course sequence will follow the material as presented in the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual (5th Edition) (optional but recommended) and free companion videos by Dave Casler available on Youtube.
The online sessions will not be a full presentation of the entire course content. Students will be expected to study the appropriate chapters and videos prior to each week's Zoom session so that they will be familiar with the topics being discussed. The online sessions are an opportunity get answers to any questions you may have on the course content for the week.
Prospective licensees participating in this course will have a good chance to pass the Technician licensing exam given by our Volunteer Examiner teams at various locations in Northern New York.
