Once again, this year, the sections in New York will be conducting a joint 60 meter emergency test.
We will have a NNY Winter Simulated Emergency Test net on 60M starting at 10AM Saturday January 31. We will start on Ch1 and work our way up to a clear frequency. We have had many questions how the new 60 meter rules will affect this SET. The answer is that it will not make any difference. The new rules will not be in force until sometime in mid February so we will do things the same way that we did last year.
NCS will take check-ins to start with for 10 minutes and then will start running the list. NCS will stop every 5 or 10 stations to look for additional check-ins.
Net control will then run the list of stations checked in. When a station is called, they will respond with the folowing:
1.) Call
2.) City & State
3.) County
5.) Antenna Type and Height
6.) Power Output
This net is open to all amateurs inside or outside of NNY Section. Other NY Sections have indicated interest in participating. The official log sheet has been updated to all the NY counties. Hopefully you will use that but if not, we will take whatever logs we can get and compile them. It is not mandatory to use our log or even turn in your results but if you do, your log will be included in the test results.
We hope you will join us.
Here is the link to the log form.
This log has been designed to be used in all of our NNY SET exercises.
