ARRL-logo-Small Our section is looking for Official Relay Stations. We currently have none so it would be nice to get at least 2 or 3 volunteers.
This is a traffic-handling appointment that is open to all amateur radio operators with CW, Voice and / or digital capabilities that are ARRL members. You do not have to operate all modes, one or two is all that is required. This is a great chance to learn about traffic handling and how the different nets run. You do not have to check into all the traffic nets each day. Just check in when you can to the nets you are interested in. If you are already passing some traffic, you are already doing most of what is required for the position! The only other thing you would need to do is to keep track of the traffic you handle and report it to Jerry, N2ZGN who is our Section Traffic Manager each month.
I would encourage anyone who may be interested to go to http://arrl.org/official-relay-station to take a look at the requirements. If you are interested in applying for the position, you can go to http://arrl.org/fsd-187-application-for-station-appointment . You will also see other station appointments that you can apply for. You can also contact me if you are interested and we can get the appointment made that way as well.
