CQ CQ CQ, calling all NNY amateurs and amateurs in surrounding sections! The 1st annual Junk In The Trunk Swap fest in Speculator NY is just around the corner. On Saturday August 13th the NNYARA is sponsoring a swap fest at the Speculator Ballfield and Pavilion from 8:00AM until 12:30PM. There will be lots of activities to keep you busy. There is an offsite (but close, ~1 mile away) VE test session, a Foxhunt with a prize, Door Prizes, Talk In Drawing and more! Please talk this up if you can. The more exposure we have, the better. It would be great to see a good turnout for this event. There will be a NNY Section meeting following the swap fest and an NNYARA meeting following that. Bring your for sale items and set up a table. There is NO CHARGE for this first event. The NNYARA is not looking to make anything on this event. The goal here is to have fun!
We are expecting a visit from our Division Director W3TOM who will be on hand to meet with people and answer questions. I will have an ARRL table set up and we will have our ARRL card checker on hand. I will be processing New ARRL Memberships as well as renewals. There will be a special gift for any new memberships or renewals that we take that day. If your membership is not set to expire for a while and you want to take advantage of the free gift offer, you can renew and it will just extend your membership! We will have plenty of information and hand outs and of course, we will be happy to answer any questions you have.
